CHRIST CHURCH VIDYAPITH, KODUKULANJI 2011-12 Report

It is my pleasure and take it as a privilege to present this report to the members of Christ Church, Kodukulanji.

Christ Church Vidyapith has been working for the last 12 years and the school is run in a secure and sylvan atmosphere comprising of 5 acres of prime land , which according to the educational authorities who visited our school, is the best location for a school in the area.

Our school started for the current academic year on 1st of June 2011 after our usual retreat under the leadership of Rev. Dr. P.K. Kuruvilla.

We have a total strengh of 17 teachers, principal, bursar and two Aayahs and two drivers.

At present we have 12 highly qualified teachers and the number increases according to the requirements as the student population increases.

This year the school had a busy time having a number of school activities in addition to the two inspection team visited our school. They were highly impressed with the running of the school.

Our teachers have taken part in Teachers Seminar conducted at Baker Vidyapith inaugurated by our Bishop Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel. Teachers attended the English Workshop held at Hawksworth Secondary school, Thiruvalla.

The students took part in the cultural fest at Bishop Moore Vidyapith, Kayamkulam, Sports competition at Bishop Moore Vidyapith, Mavelikara and Quiz competition at Speechly Vidyapith, Pallom.

This year students were taken our for a tour to Santhigiri Ashram at Venjaramoodu and Happy land at Trivandrum.

School cultural competition and sports competition were conducted in the school and the winners were awarded medals and trophies.

This year our annual Day celebrations were held on 24th of February 2012 and the guest of honour was Sri C. Rajagopal, District Superintendent of Police of Kottayam district. Sri C. Rajagopal gave a very informative speech regarding the present dangers of drug abuse among students and also the criminal tendency amog students in recent times.

It was very well accepted by the student community and the parents as well.

With regard to affiliation of Christ Church Vidyapith, efforts are in full swing and the school will get affiliation from CBSE New Delhi, any time from now. It may be pointed out that rigorous and sincere efforts are being made to get affiliation. I feel it is most appropriate to place on record the selfless and sincere services rendered by Rev. Dr. P.K. Kuruvilla in the overall running of the school especially the efforts made to secure affiliation from CBSE. It is because of Achan only the school got the eligibility certificate from CBSE, New Delhi. All the more, Achan has taken keen interest in the various developmental work of the school. To mention a few, the widening of the school stadium as per the instructions from CBSE and consultations are going on to put up a new three storyed block to house four (4),well equipped labs, a modern library and class rooms. Since the school lacks an auditorium opinion is sought from competent authorities so as to modify the first floor of the hospital ward into a multi purpose modern auditorium. All these are meticulously planned under the leadership of Rev. Dr. P.K. Kuruvilla who gives his open support and makes him available any time whether it is day or night. I feel personally a big loss since Achan is transferred from our parish especially at this stage of our school. I am certain that Achan will be remembered in the history of this school and his period here as the “golden period” of this school.

I have great pleasure to extend our gratitude to the members of the Church committee, the working committee and the governing council for the continuous support in running the school.

Rev. Chandy Jose has been very keen in the development of our school. He has always extended his suggestions help and guidance in the running of the school. We are very thankful to him.

Mr. Cheriyan C. Abraham is doing a fine job as Bursar and looks after the financial matters of the school.

To conclude this report, I place my hope in the almighty God and our firm belief in Jesus Christ who has taken us forward through all these years.

Thank You
M. V. George
